Generational change at Comexi

Pau Xifra is to replace his father Manel as president of Comexi from the beginning of May.

Pau Xifra, who joined the board of the packaging printing machinery manufacturer in 2018, will succeed Manel on 1 May, who will continue to serve as a member of the board of directors.

The move continues a succession plan initiated eight years ago, Comexi said.

Paul Xifra was appointed director of strategy and transformation in 2022 and subsequently named managing director in 2023.

During this time, he was responsible for strengthening the company’s position in the flexible packaging sector, achieving ‘very positive results in terms of both sales and profitability’, Comexi said.

‘An exciting moment’

The generational handover had been carefully prepared to help guarantee the future growth and success of the company, explained Manel Xifra.

“Seventy years after the foundation of our company, we are in an exciting moment, experiencing moments of great change,” he said.

“We believe that it is good that a new generation, with new ideas and ways of doing things, will take over the leadership of the organisation in order to face these challenges and achieve even more ambitious goals.”

Pau Xifra added: “My responsibility is to continue building on these solid foundations and contributing to the growth of this great company.

“I know that, with the talent and dedication of the entire team, we have a future full of opportunities that we will seize successfully.”

New managing director

Current strategy and transformation director José Mª Pastor has been named Pau Xifra’s replacement as managing director.

He joined Comexi one year ago, bringing extensive experience in family businesses.

He has driven the company’s strategic objectives and implemented its transformative projects, the company stated.

“I will work and dedicate all my efforts to continue implementing the defined strategy, relying on the strength of our human team, and with the ambition to continue growing, consolidating the positive trajectory of recent years,” Pastor said.
