Lindner Washtech, the plastics washing systems division of Austrian company Lindner Group, has appointed Marcel Willberg as its second managing director.
He joins the existing managing director Georg Krenn, who has served in the role for the past 11 years and is considered by Lindner to have extensive strategic operations and technical expertise.
The business said the strengthened management team would help position the company – which has implemented more than 250 projects worldwide and has a technology partnership with recycling systems provider Erema – for its next stage of growth.
This included increasing its focus on innovative end-to-end solutions, from waste plastics collection to the finished recyclate.
Global sales responsibility
Willberg, who Lindner said has considerable knowledge of plastics recycling, from sorting and pre-shredding to cold and hot washing, drying, and quality assurance, will be primarily responsible for global sales.
He has worked for Lindner Washtech for approximately 10 years, most recently as its head of sales.
In that role, he and his team supported customers in Europe, the US, Asia, and the Middle East, implementing projects ranging from large-scale systems for municipal waste management companies to custom-built systems for international plastics processors and petrochemical corporations.
“Marcel Willberg’s skillset goes far beyond the technical specifications,” said Matthias Egarter, Lindner’s chief executive.
“He understands his clients’ business scenarios and devises tailor-made solutions together with them and his team. I am proud that we have been able to develop leadership personalities like him from within our ranks.”
Combining leadership skills
Manfred Hackl, chief executive of the Erema, added: “Marcel Willberg and Georg Krenn form an excellent leadership team that combines experience, market focus, and technological expertise.
“I am convinced that, with this team in place, Lindner Washtech will continue to strengthen its international market position with successful projects and, as a result, satisfied customers, backed by the innovative strength and support of our two parent companies.”
Willberg said he was delighted to “accept the trust” placed in him and was looking forward to his new tasks.
“Together with Georg Krenn, I want to extend Lindner Washtech’s position in the international market and embed our integrated solutions even more firmly with our customers worldwide,” he said.
Washing systems manufacturer Lindner Washtech develops and supplies custom-built systems for the processing and cleaning of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics, ranging from film and rigid plastics to PET packaging.
