Industrial coatings and converting provider GMerix has become the exclusive distributor of Polyplex’s Saraprint digital media films in Canada.
The partnership means the Canadian businesses will no longer need to import Saraprint from international sources and receive faster delivery and support, GMerix said.
The non-tearable polyester film, designed for digital printing, labels, and flexible packaging applications, is described as having thermal and dimensional stability, superior ink adhesion and durability.
It is also said to be compatible with HP Indigo and dry toner digital printing machines.
Performance enhancement
GMerix, which is headquartered in Laval, Quebec, will also offer custom coating and converting services, enabling customers to enhance Saraprint’s performance by combining it with its own adhesives and coating technologies.
“This partnership represents a major step forward in expanding our product offerings for the digital printing and labelling industry in Canada,” said chief executive George Ambartsoumian, who founded the business in 2019.
“By bringing Polyplex’s high-performance Saraprint films to the Canadian market and combining them with our coating and converting expertise, we are offering a complete solution to customers that need reliable, innovative label materials.”
Seventh-largest capacity
Polyplex is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of polyester (PET) film, with the seventh-largest global production capacity.
With manufacturing facilities in India, Thailand, Indonesia, Turkey and the US, it supplies more than 2,600 customers in 85 countries with both thin and thick films in a variety of thicknesses and surface finishes, supporting applications across packaging, labels, imaging, and the industrial sectors.
“We are excited to partner with GMerix as our exclusive Canadian distributor for Saraprint films,” said Manav Singh, vice-president of sales and marketing at Polyplex.
“Their expertise in coating technologies and strong customer relationships make them the perfect partner to bring our products to a new market.
“We look forward to seeing how Canadian businesses leverage our films to create high-quality digital printing applications.”
