When Morrisons recently decided to switch its milk packaging from HDPE bottles to cartons, the supermarket chain hailed savings of 100 tonnes of plastics a year. What it failed to do was mention how three-quarters of that plastics would have been recycled anyway into new milk bottles, because HDPE is widely recycled in the UK….
