Boxon charts a path into north Africa

Swedish industrial packaging manufacturer Boxon has ramped up its presence in northern Africa by opening a production and warehouse facility in Morocco.

The business, headquartered in Helsingborg, is now running a fully operational local warehouse and production set-up to deliver standard and customised packaging in the country.

The move is designed to meet the growing demand for regional sourcing and supply chain resilience, the business said.

This would result in shorter lead-times, increased flexibility, and more agile operations across industries such as automotive, food, agriculture, and other sectors with industrial packaging needs.

Established in 1932, family-owned Boxon operates across Europe and Asia, supplying packaging materials and machines to digital tools with what it says is a strong focus on sustainability.

Film, boxes, and tape

It offers a variety of packaging consumables, such as stretch film, plastics returnable boxes, and tape.

Earlier this year, it launched a new range of big bags made from rPET bottles, which it claims are the first recycled bulk bags approved for direct food contact.

“With our operations now up and running in Morocco, we can support our customers with locally produced solutions that improve efficiency and reduce dependency on long-distance supply chains,” said Linus Lemark, Boxon Group AB’s chief executive.

“Our ambition is to be a long-term partner to our customers in Morocco, offering not just products, but complete packaging solutions that support their growth.”
