Myers Industries fires military ammo gear into Europe

Ohio-based plastics manufacturer Myers Industries has commenced production of military ammunition containers in Europe through its Scepter International Poland business.

The move aims to better serve regional demand for military customers, including NATO members and allied nations, the company said.

Production began earlier this year at a privately owned contract manufacturing facility before initial customer shipments commenced in April 2026.

Scepter claims to supply a growing portfolio of proprietary ammunition containers using advanced resin compounds.

Its lightweight, reusable, corrosion-resistant plastics packaging replaces traditional wood and metal containers, the company said.

Easier to handle

The material is said to improve soldier handling, reduce transportation weight and logistics burden, provide greater fuel efficiency, and lower lifecycle costs.

“Launching production in Europe marks an exciting new chapter for Scepter and Myers Industries,” said Mike Miller, business vice-president of Scepter.

“As demand for Scepter’s military packaging continues to grow in Europe, regional production puts us closer to our customers, shortens lead times, and allows us to respond more quickly to their needs.”

Aaron Schapper, president and chief executive of Myers Industries, added: “This investment reflects our disciplined approach to pursuing long-term growth opportunities.

“Expanding Scepter’s manufacturing footprint into Europe strengthens our military packaging platform and supports the continued growth of our defence business.”
