Industrial packaging provider Nefab is to double its manufacturing capacity in Mexico with the opening of a second packaging and warehousing facility in Guadalajara.
Located in the northern industrial clusters of Pinar, the new 58,000 sq ft site will provide sustainable plastics packaging for the datacom, electronics, and automotive industries.
Specialising in thin-gauge thermoforming, the facility will produce recyclable trays and cushioning solutions designed to optimise primary packaging.
According to Nefab, the operation enables scalable production while addressing industry demands for cost-effective and environmentally friendly packaging.
“This facility strengthens our ability to provide engineered solutions tailored to customers’ needs,” said Eric Wickman, regional managing director for Latin America at Nefab.
“By managing the entire process in-house – from design to production and recycling – we help customers reduce material use, costs, and environmental impact.”
The new site is expected to employ 50 people.
A growing nation
Patric Vestlund, executive vice-president for the Americas region at the company, said Mexico was experiencing “incredible growth”.
“Guadalajara has become a major hub for technology, manufacturing, and innovation,” he added.
“Expanding our capacity here allows us to be where our customers are – reducing logistics costs and improving supply chain efficiency.
“This is how we work – partnering with clients through our strong engineering backbone to develop tailored solutions that optimise resources, lower costs, and drive sustainability.”
Nefab said the new facility complements its existing Guadalajara plant, which specialises in wood and plywood creates, corrugated and foam packaging, as well as its Leon plant for heavy-gauge thermoforming.
The company also operates sites in Monterrey, Ciudad Juarez, and Chihuahua.
