Amcor expands refill packaging for beauty and personal care

Amcor has expanded its range of refillable and refill packaging for beauty and personal care products, with solutions available in different materials, formats and sizes.

The portfolio combines rigid containers with flexible refill packs, allowing Amcor to supply both the original container and refill elements. The company said demand for refill solutions is currently particularly strong in soap and bath products.

Its range includes refillable containers in a variety of sizes that can be combined with different closures and dispensers.

Leak resistance

Recent additions include the customisable Mocha bottle, which can be supplied with different closures and pumps, including the mono-material Wave 2cc.

For refill applications, Amcor offers its AmPrima recycle-ready spouted stand-up pouches in sizes from 30ml to 2 litres. The company said the pouches are designed to provide leak resistance and are suitable for e-commerce delivery.

The refillable and refill solutions can also incorporate post-consumer recycled material, according to Amcor.

Lara Alemany, product line director of Amcor Global Rigid Packaging Solutions, said a 2025 survey by Innova Market Insights found that 42 per cent of global consumers had chosen brands with refillable packaging options during the previous year. A further 25 per cent had opted for product alternatives in refillable packaging.

‘Maximise opportunities’

“We are, therefore, developing products to help companies maximise opportunities, with particular interest currently in refill solutions for soap and bath products,” she said.

Alemany said the development work was focused on combining aesthetics and functionality, while also supporting brand image and consumers’ perceptions of value for money.

The expansion follows Amcor’s recent collaboration with Dow to accelerate the adoption of lower-carbon packaging, including solutions using low-carbon PE and carbon footprint information to support packaging decisions.
