General Mills buys into organic food segment

US-based food giant General Mills has agreed to buy organic product specialist Annie’s Homegrown, for about US$820 million. Annie’s will join a roster of food brands at General Mills that includes Pillsbury, Cheerios, Haagen-Dazs and Nature Valley.
