German systems supplier Krones has expanded its manufacturing presence in India with a new plant in Vemagal, near Bangalore.
The build is designed to help the company, which manufactures complete packaging and filling lines, support its Indian clientele more closely, Krones said.
The factory is primarily intended for the preassembly and final commissioning of lines, including the assembly of the ErgoBloc L, Compact Class products, and dry-end machinery. In addition, blow mould and selected spare parts manufacturing are planned.
In its final development phase, aligned with economic growth, the facility is expected to provide around 60,000 sq m of production space on a 100,000 sq m site.
Krones Academy plans
Plans are in place for the new facility to become an additional Krones Academy location and to offer its own apprenticeship programme. According to the company, the site will further enhance local warehousing capabilities, allowing it to respond more quickly and efficiently to customer needs.
The group already operates Krones India and Krones Digital Solutions India in Bangalore, Krones Processing India in Hyderabad, and System Logistics India in Mumbai.
Krones said the investment would strengthen the company’s position in what it describes as one of the world’s most important growth markets for the beverage, food and packaging industries.

Headquartered in Neutraubling, Germany, Krones employs more than 21,000 people worldwide. Sales in 2025 amounted to €5.66 billion ($6.59bn).
