Tna debuts Robag Quantum system at Interpack

Tna Solutions unveiled its Robag Quantum packaging system at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, marking the first public showing of the next generation of its vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) platform.

The system builds on the long-established Robag range, first introduced in 1982, which has been developed through multiple iterations over more than four decades.

The company is positioning the latest system as a response to ongoing pressures in food manufacturing, including labour shortages, rising costs and increased product variety.

Michael Jonson, chief executive of Tna Solutions, said: “For over 40 years, the Tna Robag has continuously raised the bar in VFFS packaging through ongoing innovation. Quantum is the latest expression of that journey.”

Tna said the Robag Quantum is designed to increase output per tube, with speeds of up to 300 bags per minute depending on application, film and product type. It added that this approach could reduce the number of machines needed to achieve the same production output.

Reducing line complexity

The company also said the system is intended to reduce line complexity and waste, although it noted that performance depends on individual production set-ups.

Simon Hill, group product innovation manager at Tna Solutions, said: “Snack manufacturers are under pressure to produce more packs, more variety and more value, without adding complexity to the factory floor.

“With the Tna Robag Quantum, we are helping producers rethink high-capacity packaging by increasing output per tube rather than simply adding more machines. The result is a simpler, more efficient line that supports higher overall equipment effectiveness, lower waste and faster routes to profitability.”

Tna said the platform has been designed around four priorities it describes as easier, better, faster and smarter, with an emphasis on simplified operation and faster changeovers.

The system is intended to integrate with other production line equipment, including distribution and seasoning systems.
