Jindal Films Europe is expanding its Brindisi facility in Italy with a new 10m orienter line, which is currently under construction by Brückner Group.
The investment will increase the site’s production capacity and allow the company to process both PP and PE materials.
Once operational in the second half of 2026, the company believes the new line will make Brindisi one of the largest film production sites in Europe. It will produce a range of speciality films, including Jindal’s BOPE Ethy-Lyte brand, along with in-mould label, tobacco, label and flexible packaging films. The expansion is intended to strengthen supply across Jindal’s markets in Europe, America and Asia.
Gilbert Davids, chief executive at Jindal Films Europe, said: “This new line is a cornerstone of our strategy to strengthen our European footprint and expand our capabilities with the latest technology, highlighting our commitment to serve our customers with the most advanced and versatile production technology available.
‘Faster to market demands’
“This latest investment will allow us to respond faster to market demands, support our customers’ evolving needs, and further our efforts to develop sustainable packaging solutions.”
The Brindisi facility already operates metallising and coating technologies capable of processing the latest BOPE and BOPP grades, including ultra-high barrier films such as aluminium oxide and high optical density types. It can also apply coatings on substrates up to 12 microns, supporting the production of high-performance packaging materials.
Jindal Films Europe is part of India-based Jindal Films, which develops and manufactures speciality films for packaging and labelling applications.
The company has been consolidating its operations globally, with its US arm, Jindal Films Americas, recently closing its plant in Shawnee, Oklahoma, following the closure of another facility in Georgia last year.
