TricorBraun expands Canadian distribution network

Packaging company TricorBraun has opened a warehouse in Quebec, expanding its distribution network in Canada.

The facility is intended to hold stock closer to its customers, which TricorBraun said should help shorten delivery times and improve product availability.

Located in Laval, the warehouse provides access to regional and cross-border transport routes. The additional local inventory is also intended to reduce reliance on shipments from outside the province.

TricorBraun said the increased capacity would provide greater flexibility for customers managing urgent orders, seasonal peaks and increased demand, while supporting inventory release programmes based on production requirements and changing demand.

These capabilities could also allow customers to maintain lower stock levels, the company added.

Growing customer needs

The facility is located at Écoparc Laval 15, an industrial development in Quebec that is pursuing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Silver and Zero Carbon Building certifications.

TricorBraun said the local presence would also support customer coordination and service.

Yvan Lapointe regional vice-president of TricorBraun Canada, said: “This investment reflects TricorBraun’s continued commitment to strengthening our Canadian operations and supporting the growing needs of our customers.

“Quebec is one of the country’s most important logistics and manufacturing hubs, and establishing a local presence here allows us to be closer to the businesses we serve as they scale and evolve.”

Founded in 1902, the company has more than 2,300 employees across more than 100 locations in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. It is owned by Ares, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, and AEA Investors.
