BW Packaging, Barry-Wehmiller’s global packaging machinery business, has joined forces with Crown Packaging Corp, a North American packaging company.
The strategic partnership will provide manufacturers, retailers, logistics operations, and e-commerce businesses with packaging automation capabilities and integrated packaging solutions in the region, BW Packaging said.
St Louis-headquartered BW Packaging operates a portfolio of packaging equipment and technologies, including filling, labelling, bagging, palletising, end-of-line systems and complete packaging line integration.
The collaboration would expand the range of available packaging solutions, while enhancing packaging consultation and integrated system implementation through the combined expertise of both organisations, BW Packaging said.
Streamlining end-of-line
It would also help improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime, enhance sustainability initiatives, and streamline end-of-line packaging processes.
Crown Packaging Corp provides packaging supplies, equipment, automation systems and support services to businesses across a wide range of industries and has more than 50 years’ experience.
It boasts a distribution network of more than 50 branches and affiliates across the US, Mexico and Canada.
“Our collaboration with Crown Packaging represents a shared commitment to helping customers solve complex packaging challenges through innovative technology and exceptional service,” said Matt Venezia, chief commercial officer at BW Packaging.
“Combining Crown’s customer relationships, service footprint and broad selection of packaging supplies with BW Packaging’s integrated machinery solutions creates new opportunities to support our customers with scalable, future-ready packaging systems.”
‘Integrated solutions’
Rich Benkelman, executive vice-president of Crown Packaging Corp, said: “Customers today are looking for more than individual products or standalone machines; they want integrated solutions and trusted partners that can help optimise their entire packaging operation.
“By partnering with BW Packaging, we’re strengthening our ability to deliver world-class packaging machinery, technical expertise, and long-term value to our customers.”
Comprised of 50-plus acquisitions of packaging machinery brands, BW Packaging has a global footprint that spans six continents.
Barry-Wehmiller recently elected Kyle Chapman as chairman of the board. He succeeds his late father Bob, who led the 141-year-old $4 billion company for five decades.
