Colinex created to take over Colines business

Colinex Srl has been created to take over the business activities of Italian plastics processing machinery manufacturer Colines S.p.A. as part of a company reorganisation.

The new company name revives the Colinex Engineering name, which the company said reflects the origins of its involvement in the industry more than 50 years ago.

According to executive president Eraldo Peccetti, the reorganisation is intended to create a leaner company structure and support faster decision-making and shorter response times.

The legacy

‘From September 2026, our business activities will continue under Colinex S.r.l., the company carrying forward the legacy of Colines S.p.A.,’ Peccetti said in a statement.

The company added that its existing personnel, technical expertise and customer contacts will remain in place under the new structure.

It also said it will continue to provide after-sales support through its technical team.

The reorganisation comes as the business continues to develop its film extrusion activities. In an announcement earlier this year, Colines said it was making a Polycast 9-layer cast film extrusion test line available for customer trials at its headquarters in Nibbia, Italy, from mid-September.

Test film structures

The 2,500mm line can produce cast PP, chlorinated PE and barrier films and is also being offered for quick delivery. The company said the line is intended to allow customers to test film structures and evaluate potential production projects.

In May, Colines also exhibited alongside NO.EL. at Interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, where the companies highlighted developments in stretch film and packaging technology.

Nicola Lombardini, R&D manager and member of the board of Colines, said the event showed that sustainability and efficiency were becoming increasingly important considerations for packaging investment.

“Interpack 2026 clearly showed that the whole packaging world is more and more committed to sustainability and efficiency,” Lombardini said. “Both are no longer an option for the plastics industry, as they have become completely central to every investment decision.”
