Coveris has completed a €9.5 million ($11m) upgrade at its flexible packaging production site in Halle, Germany.
The investment focused on expanding machine capacity, improving infrastructure, and supporting growing demand for recyclable and customised packaging.
The project involved three key developments: a new cast film extrusion line, a high-specification gravure printing press, and a newly built warehouse designed to streamline logistics and increase on-site storage.
Recyclable mono-films
The F08 cast film extrusion line has now entered full production after passing material qualification. It broadens the site’s capability to produce recyclable mono-films, particularly for thermoforming and medical applications, while also supporting tailored packaging requirements.
The site has also brought online a new Rotomec T9 gravure press. This machine is designed to increase printing speed and consistency while improving output quality. Coveris says the press enhances its ability to meet delivery schedules while maintaining premium print standards.
A new warehouse has been constructed on the site to optimise internal logistics. The added storage space enables more efficient material handling and supports faster turnaround times for shipments.
Michael Schrameyer, managing director at Coveris Flexibles Germany, said: “This completed investment is a testament to our long-term vision and commitment to delivering high performance packaging solutions. Halle is now equipped to meet evolving market demands with even greater agility and quality.”
