Moulds and tooling supplier Barnes Molding Solutions has changed its name to Spectrix.
Previously part of the Barnes Group, the Molding Solutions business – which incorporates the likes of Männer, Foboha, Synventive, Priamus, Thermoplay, and Gammaflux – has been repositioned following owner Apollo’s reorganisation into separate aerospace and industrial segments.
The new identity, announced at Chinaplas 2026, is a wordplay of ‘spectrum’ and ‘plastics’. It is designed to reflect the company’s core strengths – expertise, experience and excellence.
In January, the company opened a new manufacturing facility in Pune, India, and it is soon set to establish another production site near Detroit, Michigan.
Sustainable customer value
Spectrix has also unveiled a tagline, ‘Enduring Advantage, Engineered’, underscoring its goal of delivering sustainable customer value along the full value chain through advanced engineering.
“While our name and identity are changing to Spectrix, our commitment remains the same: precision, reliability, and sustainable performance,” said Marcello Vendemiati, Spectrix president.
Spectrix offers OEMs and high-volume manufacturers a fully integrated, end-to-end value chain from part design to global injection moulding production.
For highly complex applications, the company also provides access to its own manufacturing capacity, so customers can use advanced technologies like cube moulds as production solutions under one roof.
