Milacron is forging ahead with expansion plans with two new sites in India and Mexico.
The extrusion and injection moulding machinery maker officially opened its first Global Capability Centre in the industrial city of Coimbatore, India in July.
The facility will house more than 60 engineers and aims to strengthen the company’s ability to serve customers locally, while expanding its innovation and engineering capabilities, Milacron said.
A light ceremony marked the opening of the centre with Suraj Thodimarath, managing director of Milacron India, formally inaugurating the office in the presence of key members of the leadership team.
Team bonding sessions
Each staff member was presented with a personalised letter and sweets from the managing director, and participated in team-building activities over lunch before listening to speakers. These included company chief executive Mac Jones, who discussed the future of Milacron’s global engineering presence.
Milacron will also build a brand-new facility in Querétaro, Mexico.
Writing on LinkedIn, Jones said the development would “strengthen how we serve our customers across Mexico and Latin America”, adding that it represented “the next chapter of growth” for the business.
Jones said: “Walls are going up. Stones are being (written on) and placed. Momentum is building. And this is just the beginning. This is a team effort through and through – with much more to come. “Excited for what we’ll build here together.”
