Vert, a Colorado-based packaging manufacturer, has opened a 35,000 sq ft facility in Longmont, producing digitally printed pouches, roll stock and labels for consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands.
The facility expands Vert’s domestic manufacturing capacity and will initially operate a single HP Indigo Certified Pre-Owned 25K digital press. It will serve brand owners in sectors including food and beverage, sports nutrition, supplements, and pet treats.
Vert said the facility is intended to support brand owners that need shorter production runs and quicker replenishment as they grow.
‘Speed and scale’
Dustin Steerman, founder and chief executive of Vert, said: “Historically, brands have had to choose between speed and scale.
“Vert was built to give them both. Launch fast, validate demand, adapt quickly and scale smarter through the same ecosystem. Too many lifestyle CPG brands get stuck managing fragmented suppliers, long lead times and operational drag at the exact moment they need speed most.
“We built Longmont to remove those bottlenecks and help brands stay focused on innovation and growth. Packaging is a growth lever when working with the right partners.”
The Longmont operation forms part of Vert’s hybrid supply chain model, combining domestic production with scalable global manufacturing through a single packaging supplier.
Closer to market
The company said the domestic facility will allow customers to produce packaging closer to market while retaining access to larger-scale manufacturing as demand develops.
Bob Babich, lead of flexible packaging at HP, said: “Lifestyle CPG brands need packaging solutions that can keep pace with innovation and changing consumer demands.
“By investing in HP Indigo digital print technology, Vert is helping brands bring products to market faster, reduce complexity and scale with confidence.
“We are proud to support Vert as they expand their capabilities and empower growing consumer brands with the agility, quality and flexibility that digital production makes possible.”
