Aptar Closures is set to launch a selection of Inverted Lidless dispensing closures for the beauty and personal care markets.
The line’s first two offerings, Cleo and Airy, are said to help eliminate the need for separate lids and reduce unwanted messes, drips, and product waste that can happen with shampoos, conditioners, body washes, baby soaps, and lotions.
Manufactured in the US, the Cleo closure is compatible with neck finishes of 28-400 and 33-400. It is 2.125 inches in diameter, and it features a crab claw seal and a 0.375-inch orifice.
Airy is designed for 28-410 neck finishes. The closure is 2.12 inches in diameter and has a plug seal with a 0.3-inch orifice.
Both feature frost finishes and a ready-to-use ‘always open’ design – and each can be adapted to suit various levels of product viscosity, Aptar said.
The NPD utilises the company’s patented SimpliSqueeze signature flow control valve, which enables opening with a squeeze and reliable closing when pressure is released.
Reduction in foreign particles
The valve also eliminates contact with the closure itself and is designed to substantially reduce unintentional dispensing or foreign-particle ingress.
The closures are said to make products easy to use, even with wet hands, while the lidless technology enables single-handed dispensing.
“For the beauty and personal care products categories, the revolutionary new Inverted Lidless family of closures addresses two important issues: ease of use and shelf appeal,” said Maria Vazquez-Ricote, senior director and market leader for beauty, personal, and homecare for Aptar Closures.
“Both the Cleo and Airy closures help brand owners improve how their customers interact with a wide range of everyday products by simplifying their everyday routines.”
