BASF targets performance with European restructuring

Chemical company BASF is to take a number of steps to strengthen the competitiveness of its Performance Products segment, including restructuring the businesses and eliminating about 500 jobs by the end of 2015. The news follows its rival Sabic’s announcement earlier this week that it is to cut more than 1,000 jobs in Europe.
