Brückner Servtec has upgraded and refined two thickness gauges on two Brückner BOPP lines operated by Texas-based manufacturer The Inteplast Group.
The Nordson Measurement & Control (formerly NDC Technology) thickness gauges were introduced on two of its lines to ensure more reliable and precise measurements, increased safety and improve film quality, Brückner Servtec said.
The NDC thickness scanners use infrared technology in combination with Brückner’s thickness control software (TCE 2.0).
The previous thickness gauges utilised a measuring head with a radioactive source that, according to Brückner Servtec, had a limited source energy due to its half-life.
Film precision compromised
This limitation, coupled with potential measurement inaccuracies, could impact the precision of film production, the systems supplier said.
“We’ve received exceptional support from Brückner’s engineering team during the recent upgrades of our NDC systems and are truly impressed by its commitment to delivering high-quality results,” said Gary Zhao, electrical engineer at Lolita-based Inteplast. “We look forward to continuing our successful collaboration with the company.”
Ben Sandelowsky, vice-president of service at Brueckner Group USA, added: “Our onsite team is a unique selling point that differentiates us from our competition and continues to build our reputation in all markets.
“This project is a great example of our global connection and local execution. Thanks to Inteplast for its continued trust in us.”
