Joint venture aims for ‘cutting edge’ sealing

Italian packaging firm Ilpra and flow wrapping machinery manufacturer TLM have formed joint venture company that will aim to develop and deliver ‘cutting-edge’ horizontal sealing (flow pack) technologies.

Called TI Wrap, the new company is equally owned (50:50) by the Ilpra Group and TLM owner Mosaiko Holding.

The expansion will enable Ilpra to ‘strengthen’ its offering across the entire packaging line, allowing it to ‘offer comprehensive solutions for the food, cosmetic, and medical sectors’, the company said.

The announcement comes after IIpra S.p.A agreed to acquire the remaining 76.67 per cent stake in Ilpra Systems Spain SI in April.

It said the acquisition will allow it to reduce the management costs of the Iberian structure and shorten the decision-making chain, leaving a direct presence on the Spanish market, which is strategic for the group.
