German filling and packaging systems supplier KHS Group has earned the EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability rating for a second consecutive year.
The prestigious rating ranks companies in the top 1 per cent globally of more than 175,000 firms vetted every year.
It defines up to 21 sustainability criteria for assessment in the fields of environment, labour law and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
KHS Group scored 89 out of 100 points – an improvement on its 2025 tally of 86.
The platinum rating is said to recognise ‘outstanding achievements’ made in the business and developments in sustainability.
The Endorsements category, which evaluates a company’s formal recognition and promotion of external sustainability initiatives and principles, received an ‘exceptionally positive evaluation’ and accrued ‘considerably more points in this section’ than the previous year, due to continuous further development of this commitment, KHS claimed.
‘A great success’

“Winning our second platinum award is a great success for us all here at KHS,” said Nicole Pohl, senior environmental, social, and governance manager at KHS.
“In a rating system that’s undergoing a dynamic further development and imposing increasingly stringent requirements, we’ve achieved an excellent result.”
Tobias Wetzel, KHS chief sales officer, agreed: “EcoVadis’s rating criteria are becoming increasingly tougher. The fact that we’ve again defended our top position and even managed to improve on our result confirms that we’re on the right path.
“At KHS, we don’t just pay lip service to sustainability; it’s an obligatory benchmark that guides us in all that we do.”
Recently, KHS revealed it is investing more than €11 million ($12.8m) in a hall for its barrier technology product centre.
Located on expanded premises at Hellmesbergerweg, Hamburg, the new 4,300 sq m factory will be operational from spring 2027 and will bring all Plasmax coating technology departments under one roof.
