Rashid takes regional leadership role

Closure liner manufacturer Selig Group has named Shaz Rashid vice-president and general manager for EMEIA.

His appointment is part of a managed executive transition coordinated by Geoff Lu, who retires as executive vice-president and general manager for EMEIA on 1 June, 2024.

During his over a decade with Selig, Lu strengthened Selig’s EMEIA business unit to deliver differentiated products. He also played a key role in the acquisition of Manufacture Générale de Joints.

Shaz Rashid comes to Selig Group from Briar Chemicals, a global contract manufacturer serving the agrochemical sector, where he was the chief executive. Prior to Briar, Rashid spent more than 12 years with Synthomer, a supplier of specialised chemicals, where he was managing director Middle East, Africa, and Americas.

“I look forward to supporting continued growth and investment in the team, products, and operations to best serve our customers,” said Rashid.
